It’s news to us that Loretta Lynn’s seminal late-career LP, Van Lear Rose, had yet to see a vinyl release, but that will be remedied in just 12 days: Jack White, the producer and guest performer on the set, will release the album on 180-gram vinyl, mastered directly from the original analog tapes. That latter bit is especially comforting to this writer given the record’s benchmark-setting analog engineering . Van Lear Rose, of course, features a now all-star backing band of members from the Raconteurs, the Greenhornes, Blanche, and White himself.
