Air, ‘Le Voyage Dans La Lune’ Tracklist

November 22, 2011

Air revealed details to their next LP today: Le Voyage Dans La Lune, an 11-track effort inspired by the work composing an original score to director Georges Méliès’ 1902 film by the same name (also known as A Trip to the Moon in English). Featuring guest performances by Victoria Legrand of Beach House and Au Revoir Simone, Nicolas Godin offered up the following teaser description:

A Trip to the Moon’ is undoubtedly more organic than most of our past projects. We wanted it to sound ‘handmade,’ knocked together’, a bit like Méliès’ special effects. Everything is played live … like Méliès’ film, our soundtrack is nourished by living art.

The French duo’s follow-up to 2009’s Air 2 is set to arrive on February 7 of next year, complete with a limited edition that includes a DVD of the film set to their original score. In the meantime, check out the album cover above and full tracklist below:

Amanda Palmer Covers Leon Rosselson for OWS

November 22, 2011

Just in case you haven’t caught a live set from Amanda Palmer at one of her many appearances during Occupy protests in Oakland, Vancouver, Seattle, and beyond, the solo artist, Dresden Dolls singer, and Evelyn Evelyn member just shared a tribute cover for all to enjoy online: “The World Turned Upside Down” — Leon Rosselson’s famous protest anthem made famous by the great modern-day folk singer Billy Bragg — arrives as the soundtrack to black-and-white still photos from the movement, edited together by Michael Gill.

The result is moving, entertaining, and — most importantly — a rousing call to action. Check it out below.

Meanwhile, Palmer has another song that’s been performed at Occupy sites available online: “Ukulele Anthem.”

Adele Shares Royal Albert Hall Clip, “Turning Tables”

November 21, 2011

As previously reported, Adele will cap off a whirlwind year of touring and television appearances with a brand new live film, Live at Royal Albert Hall. Filmed at her concert in the infamous London venue back in September, the 90-minute piece features multi-camera video of the entire set, as well as behind-the-scenes footage. While the release doesn’t arrive until next week (November 28), today Adele shared a promising preview in the form of “Turning Tables,” a gorgeous heartfelt ballad from her sophomore album, 21.

As you can see in the clip, simple piano backing and well-arranged strings can do no wrong with Adele’s voice on center stage. Check it out above.
