Outside of Los Angeles’ Largo, seeing Jon Brion perform live is a rare event. Perhaps even more rare than that would be catching the virtuoso producer/composer perform solo on television (his old VH1 show wasn’t picked up after the pilot, after all). Enter two clips of unknown origin, presumably dating back to the promo rounds for David O. Russell’s film I Heart Huckabees, which featured a score and both of these original cuts by Brion. While we won’t be getting a glimpse online at one of his trademark one-man-band-style shows — in which Brion multi-tracks and often improvises on all instruments himself — here’s a chance to see him stripped down to just 8-string ukulele and harmonica. A treat to behold for any fan of Brion or fine folk-pop tunes:
