Bon Iver’s run of beautifully shot official videos off their doubly self-titled sophomore LP continues with the release of director Nabil Elderkin’s picturesque tale of an old man traveling from the woods to an ocean to capture a piece of an ambiguous Stonehenge-esque structure as it crumbles. If Elderkin’s work looks familiar, that’s because the Australian photographer/filmmaker also helmed Justin Vernon and Co.’s equally stunning “Holocene” clip we enjoyed last summer. Meanwhile, the fact that fine work like this remains par for the course in the promotional effort behind Bon Iver’s Grammy-winning latest is even further proof that the hype has been well-earned and well-spent.
