Sam Beam and friends returned to The Tonight Show moments ago for the TV debut of a live version to their new song featured on the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Soundtrack, “Flightless Bird, American Mouth (Wedding Version).” In short, we’re impressed — and pleasantly surprised — that such a hushed, nuanced ditty landed a spot on the OST of a blockbuster franchise like the Twilight saga. But, then again, all it takes is one spin through Iron & Wine’s inspired take below to feel the haunting undercurrent that earned the cut’s spot in a popular romance-meets-horror flick.
