Chris Martin and co. stopped by Later… with Jools Holland tonight for live performances of two Mylo Xyloto cuts: “Charlie Brown” and “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall.” Both takes adhered close to the studio versions from their Brian Eno-co-produced LP, with Martin setting his acoustic guitar and military garb aside for a dance-heavy take on the latter tune. Complete with sing-along choruses that reach for the rafters, exuberant onstage theatrics, and colorful stage lighting, solid television performances like these come easy for Coldplay, all while giving the new record’s sales numbers a definite boost.
