It looks like the pair behind 2007’s excellent There Will Be Blood score are gearing up for yet another collaboration, as director Paul Thomas Anderson has reportedly recruited Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood to compose music for his next film, The Master. As the Playlist points out, news of Greenwood’s involvement apparently leaked last week when the founder of Babel Label said that a jazz group signed to their roster are involved in the project:
“Zed-U recorded part of soundtrack for Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead last week. Film (by Paul Thomas Anderson) to appear in 2013.”
Given that Greenwood’s brilliant work on the pair’s previous project was left out of contention for the Academy Awards due to a minor technicality, this could shape up to be an impressive redo of that year’s award season run. Or, at the very least, another inimitable, edgy film score from one of the best modern guitarists/composers around. We’ll keep an eye out for official confirmation from the studio, but in the meantime, get acquainted with Zed-U’s music below:
