Video: Florence & the Machine on SNL, 2011

“Shake It Out”

“No Light, No Light”

Florence + the Machine stopped by Saturday Night Live last night for their second appearance on the classic sketch comedy show in as many years. For both performance segments, Florence Welch and friends took on cuts off their brand new sophomore album, Ceremonials, unleashing singles Shake It Out” and “No Light, No Light” for the late-night TV masses. As with their 2010 debut on the program, Flo and co. brought the house down (and record sales up, most likely), proving they’ve earned every bit of the hype catalyzed by 2009’s Lungs and its subsequent standout live treatment.

What’s more, Welch co-starred in a comedy bit titled New Jack Swing Thanksgiving, singing a holiday-themed joke song dubbed “The Adult Table” as Flo Doubt. In case you missed their triumphant SNL return, the aforementioned sketch can be revisited at the link above, while the pair of musical segments are embedded above.
