Ben Folds reunited with former Ben Folds Five members Robert Sledge and Darren Jessee for their first new song as a trio in over ten years: “House,” an impressive ballad that recalls much of their best work together in the ’90s.
Their latest song arrives complete with an 18-track collection of standout cuts from Folds’ 20-year career, as well as on a 3-disc expanded edition of The Best Imitation of Myself: A Retrospective. Other newly-recorded Ben Folds Five tracks — which were put to tape earlier in 2011 — include “Tell Me What I Did” and “Stumblin’ Home Winter Blues.”
While the entire expansive set won’t be released until October 11, you can preview “House” today over at NBC. Folds’ new tune is being cross-promoted on the site for The Sing-Off, a new musical competition show co-starring Folds as a judge.
